It is completely possible to revive a dead social media account – but it will take planning and commitment. Staying consistent, having a clear goal, and focusing on the quality of your content will all help you revive your page. Here is a deeper dive into what you can do to revive a social media page.
Clear Goals for your Social Media Account
Social media marketing may be a little different from your other marketing initiatives, but at the end of the day it is still a marketing strategy. This means you need to have a clear goal and plan for your social media account. Are you trying to build brand awareness, or are you trying to promote your Instagram shop? Whatever your goal is – it will impact the content you create. Having a clear understanding of your content’s purpose will help you stay consistent and come up with content ideas.
Quality Content
Quality over quantity. We are constantly bombarded with content throughout the day, if your content is of low quality then people will automatically scroll past.
What is considered quality content? Quality does not mean perfection. Sometimes your videos might have some background noise or you might stumble a little on your words – that is okay! Quality content is content that your target audience wants to see and is interested in.
If you are a waxing salon, people are likely not interested in the type of coffee you drink in the morning. Now – if you use the B roll of your morning routine for an informational video, this could work. Remember that your social media content is not for you, but for your target audience. Also, your quality content should also help you reach those clear goals you made earlier.
Staying Consistent
Staying consistent is arguably the most important step to revive your dead social media account. This will show your (potential) followers that you are actively interacting with your community.
The key is to do what works best for YOU. There is a lot of advice out there about how often you need to post, but if that amount is just not sustainable for you – then you won’t be consistent. It is better to post as often as you CONSISTENTLY can, instead of trying and failing at keeping up with a rigorous content schedule.
Create a schedule for yourself, so you have a clear understanding of the type of content you need to create and when. To learn more about how we keep our social media schedule, and what our schedule is, check out our YouTube video.
