 A health care marketing professional by trait, I've turned my passion and over 10 years of experience in the trenches into a love for sharing and educating business owners on the best tips, tools and tactics for marketing their business.

I've worked in almost every aspect of the marketing world.

As a student at the University of South Carolina, I worked for a Market Research firm, performing survey calls, recruiting and assisting with focus groups. I learned the importance of using data to track initiatives and campaigns, but most importantly realized that marketing is a science as much as it is an art.  

After graduation, I went on to work at the Town’s local Chamber of Commerce as Director of Membership Development.  My experience at the Chamber put me face to face with the everyday hurdles that small businesses face (like gaining exposure in a crowded marketplace and having to maximize marketing dollars). It also introduced me to the many FREE resources that business owners have at their fingertips, some of which often go unnoticed.   

In 2008, I entered the health care industry marketing for area urgent care centers and fell in love with the fast paced environment. I handled every aspect of marketing from public relations, community engagement and graphic design to website management, content creation and media contracting.  

After three years in the urgent care arena, I transitioned into a larger role as Executive Director of Marketing for the largest multi-specialty independent physicians group in South Carolina (where I recently celebrated my 7 year work-a-versary!)  This organization is near and dear to my heart as I have established the foundation for all organization wide branding, marketing and public relations - including leading a team to support the marketing needs of over 90 medical providers throughout 29 medical practices.  

They say marketers have all the fun, and that may be true! Some of my professional highlights include:

  • Launching the corporate website (3 times! hey, a website is a living and breathing thing...but more on that in the WEBSITE tutorial)
  • Hosting a press conference to announce the building of a $32 million dollar integrated medical campus
  • Hosting a successful fundraising event for then SC Governor Nikki Haley 
  • Hosting a groundbreaking event for the $32 million dollar medical campus which resulted in vast media coverage 

As with all the best things in life, my journey as The Seasoned Marketer came unexpectedly.  The day of the groundbreaking for the $32 million medical campus, I was approached by the foreman of the project.  With a bright smile and his wife by his side, he shared that they were small business owners, set to open a storage facility in Ohio - "I want to do this for my business" he said.  

Without skipping a beat, I handed him an extra Press Kit and explained the contents and how to maximize exposure.  

It was that day that I realized that every business owner could achieve the same marketing success with their business, if only they had access to these simple strategies.

That simple interaction was the start of The Seasoned Marketer. I am here to serve. My biggest dream is to publish and share free content that you find useful, whether through a blog, vlog or worksheet.
