If you are looking for engaging social media content ideas for your small business  – we are here to help! Here are a couple content ideas for you to use in November.

National Days:

November is more than just Thanksgiving (or Pre-Christmas)! Using national days and monthly celebrations allow you to not only engage with your target audience, but also get creative with your social media content ideas. Some staple national days and monthly celebrations in November include:

National Native American Heritage Month

National Alzheimer’s Disease Month

National Prematurity Awareness Month

National Family Literacy Month

November 7: National Retinol Day

November 14: National Pickle Day

November 15: National Philanthropy Day

November 21: National Gingerbread Day

Holiday Season:

It is officially the gift giving season. If your small business is planning anything for the holiday season, make sure you inform your target audience about it! Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and even Small business Saturday – which has been on the rise in recent years.

It can be easy to post about your holiday sale once and assume that is enough, but it’s not. A well known marketing statistic – it takes 7 to 8 touchpoints before someone is willing to make a purchase. That means someone needs to see your messaging 7 to 8 times before they decide they want to shop your business. So do not be afraid to keep reminding your followers about your products or sales. While you might feel like a broken record with these social media content ideas, it is unlikely that your target audience will see every single one of your posts, ads, etc.

“But I don’t want to do Black Friday or Small Business Saturday. I probably won’t do any type of promotion for the holiday season.”  That’s fine too! Instead of promoting a type of sale, simply focus on your products. You can even focus on how they would make the perfect gift for someone.

Get Personal:

A big reason consumers are turning to small business owners instead of bigger brands is because they are looking for authenticity. Do not be afraid to get personal in your content! Sharing your small business story, how you create your products, or even a fun experience you had recently can be a great way to build a relationship with your audience.

A great example of this would be packing videos. Many small business owners share behind the scenes videos of them packing up an order they received. This way you not only get a behind the scenes look on the process, but consumers can feel a little special when their order is being shown off.

Content creation does not have to be complicated – although it is an investment of time. Ask yourself what types of questions your target audience has, and what type of content they would want to see. This will help you create the most creative and engaging social media content ideas.
