The start of the New Year is the perfect time to reflect on your small business marketing strategies – and for making changes necessary to flourish in 2024. Here are 4 strategies that are going to be big in 2024.
Personalization
With the advancement of technology and the ever changing marketing world, personalization is one of the key components consumers are looking for. Spotify is a wonderful example of this. With their new AI DJ that only plays music it knows you will like, to their ever popular Wrapped Year in Review – they have taken personalization to the next level. The key to personalization is to give your customers what they specifically want.
Okay, but how do I do this? Use your data! Looking at your analytics will help you better understand your target audience, and help you provide them an experience that they will appreciate and enjoy.
Interactive Content
Of all the marketing strategies, this might be the most important. The key to interactive content marketing is how you communicate with your audience. You need to talk TO and WITH your target audience, not AT them. This can be done in many creative ways, like creating quizzes or polls for your audience to have fun with. Even still, you can simply change your verbiage to promote a two way conversation. Either way, allowing your audience to be part of the conversation will allow you to create a stronger relationship with them – AND you can use their responses to better personalize their experiences!
User Generated Content
User generated content has been one of the marketing strategies most talked about in 2023, and it is staying relevant in 2024. Focusing not on your products and services, but instead on your customers and how they interact with your brand. There are so many ways you can ask your customers to share their experiences, from contests with hashtags, to asking for reviews. The goal here is to allow potential customers to see first hand FROM THE CONSUMER why your business is worth their time.
Storytelling
There is a LOT of content out there. For you to be able to grab the attention of your target audience, storytelling is going to have to be at the forefront of your marketing strategies. The good news is – as a small business, you have an advantage when it comes to storytelling! No one is quite like you, and you have a unique story to tell. Leverage your uniqueness and share your story with others. This allows your brand to come across as more personable, and peaks interest. Consumers are now as interested in the person they are purchasing from than the actual product.
